Key Terms

Platform Environment/Software Environment:  A computer system in which a computer program is deployed and executed. Simple software may only have one environment, which means any changes made to the software are seen immediately by users. There are often several environments to ensure proper testing and rollback if any bugs are found.

Graphical User Interface (GUI): Is a form of user interface that allows users to interact with and interpret data from a computer system through graphical icons and visuals elements. (learn more here)

Stakeholder: An individual, group or organization who is impacted by or has an interest in something, in this case it would be the MilkCrate Platform. This would include our MilkCrate’s development team, MilkCrate’s product team, MilkCrate’s investors, MilkCrate’s customers, a customer’s staff, a customer’s funders, a customer’s users etc.

Customer: An organization that is paying to use our platform, they are given their own ‘community’ which has its own Admin and App. 

Community: An internal identifier that separates different customer’s data and platform usage. Each customer is set up with their own community which includes a virtually blank Admin and app. All new customer apps are located inside MilkCrate for Communities until their branding is complete.

Branded App/White Label App: A mobile app that carries a customer’s brand and only has access to a single community. Users will search for the customer’s name and information in the app store.

MilkCrate for Communities: A mobile app that carries the MilkCrate brand which can be used by new customers and their beta testers so they can interact with their community before it is branded. Customers and beta testers will search for MilkCrate for Communities in the app store and use their community code to view their community.
